Madelyn's friend Sanjana turned 5. She had a party at a jump/slide playland. Madelyn was shy at first, but by the end had a great time.

Introducing Cooper Lee Johnson

Cooper finally made his appearance October 21st. He weighed in at 6 lbs 8 oz and 20 3/4 inches. A little guy for being a week overdue!! Madelyn is enjoying being a big sister, calling him her baby.

We had a great time at Liam's 2nd birthday party. They surprized the kids with a Jumping castle. What a blast!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

We had a huge Nemo party for Madelyn's 3rd birthday. We are guessing about 60 friends and family!!! The house and backyard got a little crazy. But Madelyn had a great time.

Bowling with the cousins

Dave, Edie and the boys were in town for Madelyns 3rd birthday and we all went bowling. The kids and adults had a great time. Jacob would help the little ones put the ball on the ramp. What a great older brother.

1st big snow of 2009!!!

Over the last two days we got about 12 inches of snow. It closed down the city for all of thursday and most of friday. It was nice I didn't have to work so not very stressful for me. Here is a picture friday afternoon as Madelyn was helping dad shovel us out.

Maddie's 1st haircut

I was a little scared at how she would do for 1st time in a barber shop. She did great!!! Sat there with no problems, with a stranger touching her hair and ears. She loved looking in the mirror, watching Nemo on tv, and sitting in the pretend car while they cut her hair. What a champ!!!

Madelyns implants

She is hearing more and more by the day. She is slowly starting to repeat words and sounds back to us. The appointments have slowed down as she gets the hang of her new ears. We are still doing a sign language, two speech therapys, and an audiology each week. Starting in April we will start a pre preschool two days a week. That will be a big step for Maddie on her own.

Sophia's Birthday Party

The Garden

Its been such a calm winter Chris is already getting his garden ready. With the help of Bill, Ryan, and Gary we shouldn't have to go the grocery store again!!!

Turning on the implants

Today was the day we turned on the implants for the first time. Madelyn heard what the audiologist expected. During the 3 hour appointment she reacted to the buzz noises and was a very cooperative two year old. Especially since it was during nap time. By the end of the first night she was reacting to our voices. She even tells me when the implants fall off or are not working corectly. We put them on one time and she signed and said "mom, I hear you" That was awsome!!!!!

Back from Surgery

Madelyn had bi-cochlear surgery done on Friday the 30th of January. She was discharged from the hospital saturday about 10:30am. Saturday she was groggy and in a little pain. But by sunday she was up and around like nothing ever happened. It is hard to follow her around because its a game to her. Mommy is right beind her at all times so lets push chairs in her way and slam doors right in front of her. Lots of fun here now!!!!! But I am so glad she is feeling well. Thank you everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. We are scheduled to turn them on Tuesday the 10th of February. So one week from today. We can't wait!!!!!

The Coors Field Tour
